#76 Masked Cross
The foam core with the copper foil finish was an intriguing background for a new piece. The color was very powerful so much of it had to be covered over. Blue became the dominant color as a means of controlling the orange. The masking tape defines the cross. Red, white, blue and black are explored in a variety of conditions. The abstract imagery created by the blue and orange paint creates an interesting relationship with the structure of the rest of the piece. The other complementary colors act as anchors.
