#71 Contrasting cross

I wanted to try combining two very different elements in one piece.  The old disposable paper palette had an interesting arrangement of color and shapes and I decided to insert it into a very ordered environment.  The multi-colored checkerboard squares were an excellent contrasting background for experimenting with uniform circles in various colors.  The color play was fun to work with, as was finding gradated spheres cut from magazine pages.  The cross is very much defined yet also somehow subtle.
